Summer Intern Spotlight: Building Their Futures in Construction

This summer, we are proud to welcome a talented group of interns who are bringing curiosity, dedication, and fresh perspectives to The Crowther Group. Ayub Ahmed, Daniel Gonzalez, and Ernesto Rivera are graduates of Dallas Independent School District, one of our valued community partners, and are continuing their education locally at The University of Texas at Arlington and Dallas College. As they build on their academic foundation, they are also gaining valuable hands-on experience within the construction industry.

Throughout their internship, these future professionals are eager to see firsthand how construction projects come together from the planning and coordination that happen behind the scenes to the daily operations taking place in the field. They are especially excited to learn from experienced industry professionals, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and gain a deeper understanding of the tools, technology, and processes that drive successful projects.

“I am excited to learn anything that comes along the way,” said Gonzalez. “I know that being in the construction industry takes a lot of hard work, and I want to learn from my team so that one day I can reach that level. Any opportunity is a learning experience.”

The interns also expressed a strong interest in exploring the many career paths available within the industry, including field engineering, safety, estimating, superintendent roles, and project management. Their goals reflect a shared commitment to connecting classroom knowledge with real-world experience while developing the skills and confidence needed to contribute to future projects.

“By the end of the summer, I hope to make lasting connections and expand my knowledge of construction,” said Ahmed, a student at The University of Texas at Arlington. “I also hope to learn more about the software used throughout the industry and continue improving my problem-solving skills.”

We are excited to support these emerging professionals as they grow their knowledge, build meaningful relationships, and take important steps toward successful careers in construction. Their journey highlights the strength of local talent, the impact of educational partnerships, and the importance of investing in the next generation of industry leaders.
